“10 Minutes Closer to Freedom”

In this episode of Thoughts from Maharrey Head, I talk about the relationship between the states and the federal government through the eyes of Thomas Jefferson.

Nov. 10 marked the 217th birthday of the Kentucky Resolutions of 1798.

Thomas Jefferson secretly drafted the Kentucky resolutions in response to the Alien and Sedition Acts. They not only provide a blueprint on how to deal with federal overreach, they give one of the best explanations of the relationship between the states and the federal government ever penned.

In this episode of Thoughts from Maharrey Head, I explain exactly what the Alien and Sedition Acts were, why they were so dangerous to liberty and what Jefferson proposed doing about it.
